Heart's Plea

Everyone was startled by Anjali's sudden shouting. They rushed towards the terrace. Maan came only to witness Anjali, drenched in rain, stiffened in her place, looking in one direction. He was about to step near her to calm her, but as he moved his face to look at whatever she was looking at, he couldn't move any further. It was Deep lying unconscious, completely drenched in rain.

"Deep..." he whispered under his breath. He took slow steps towards her with an unsettling uneasiness. While Anjali kept taking her footsteps backward, she was about to fall from the stairs, but Agastya held her from behind, stopping her from falling.

Maan knelt down near Deep, tapping her cheeks to wake her up, but there was no response. It was dreading him to the core.

"Deep, wake up, Jaan. Please don't do this... I can't see you like this... please wake up... w..a...k...e...u...p... warrior, I beg you," he uttered in complete agony.

"Maan, take her down. The rain will worsen her condition," Agastya yelled from afar, still holding Anjali.

Maan, coming back to his senses a little, hurried to pick her up in his arms and rushed downstairs. Anjali, still not speaking anything, rushed behind him.

He laid her down in one of the rooms on the ground floor. Covering her under blankets and switching off the AC, he checked up on her.

"Her heartbeats are slow. She fainted because of some anxiety. She will be awake in an hour or two," he spoke, keeping her hand entangled in his and kissing it.

Anjali still stood numb in the corner of the room, waiting for her to wake up, while Agastya kept holding her hand to calm her. She didn't mind, I guess, which also meant she wasn't in the right senses, as it was Anjali who would have never allowed anyone to hold her hand like this on some other day.

Maan sat beside Deep, his fingers gently brushing the wet strands of hair from her face. His heart ached with a mixture of fear and desperation. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his trembling voice.

"Deep, my warrior, you have to wake up," he whispered, his voice cracking. "I can't lose you. Not now, not ever."

He leaned closer, pressing her hand to his lips. "I am ready to do anything I'll bear anything. But seeing you like this, so still and silent... it terrifies me it breaks my heart."

Maan's eyes filled with tears, one escaping down his cheek. "I can't imagine a life without you. I couldn't from the first moment I saw you , from the moment I fell in love with you. I don't know when you became a part of me that I could never remove from myself, especially now when I have met and seen so many sides of you I wanna just be with you."

He squeezed her hand, hoping for a response, but there was none. "I promised to protect you, to stand by you no matter what. And I will. You called me your hero right But how will I save my heroine if she doesn't wanna be saved."

Maan's voice grew softer, almost a whisper. "I don't know if you can hear me, but I need you to know how much you mean to me. You are my heart, my soul, my will to survive. Please, come back to me. Open your eyes and let me see those beautiful, determined cerulean eyes again."

He leaned down, resting his forehead against hers, letting his tears mix with the rain still clinging to her skin. "I love you, My Warrior. I love you more than words can say ,I love you more than anyone could ever thought of, more than it has ever been witnessed , please, wake up. Come back to me...please."

Maan closed his eyes, silently praying, hoping that his words, his love, would reach her, and that she would find the strength to wake up and come back to him.

"This morning when I saw her reports and knew her health was..... It had felt heavy on my heart but I guess I wasn't really known to the feeling of loosing her but few minutes back when I saw her lying unconscious and unresponsive it struck like a hard blow on my heart...my heart clenched on his own , the fear of her gone just kept settling in . It was ilike a realisation of knowing of something could happen and then seeing it's possibilities unfold infront of you ,it pricks each and every vein of the body. I myself don't know when and why I fell in so much of love with this women , not even women I fell in love with a girl."he spoke to his inner self.

Maan had been sitting by Deep's side, his eyes never leaving her face. The hours seemed to drag on, each second feeling like an eternity. He had replayed the events of the evening over and over in his mind-how she had tugged on his collar and dedicated her shayari to him, how she had joyfully danced. His heart was overwhelmed with a million emotions. He gently held her hand, his thumb brushing over her knuckles in a soothing motion, as if willing her to wake up through sheer force of will.

As he sat there, his mind drifted to the moments they had shared-the laughter, the quiet conversations, the unspoken bond that was forming between them. He had promised to protect her, to be there for her, and now she was lying unconscious, vulnerable and fragile.

"I shouldn't have left her alone...it was my fault..."

Suddenly, he felt a slight movement in her hand. His heart skipped a beat, and he leaned in closer, his eyes wide with anticipation. Slowly, her eyelids moved.

"Warrior?" he whispered, his voice a mix of hope and fear.

Her eyes slowly opened, and she blinked a few times, trying to focus. When her gaze finally met his, a wave of relief washed over him, giving him some ease.

"Maan?" she murmured, her voice weak and raspy.

"Yes, it's me," he said, his voice choked with emotion. "How are you feeling? Is it paining anywhere?"

"No, it is not. I am better," she answered with a slow smile.

He couldn't hold back the tears that had been threatening to fall. He didn't care about appearing vulnerable; all that mattered was that she was awake, that she was here with him. He leaned down and gently kissed her forehead, his lips lingering for a moment, savoring the warmth of her skin.

"You scared me, Warrior," he admitted, his voice trembling. "I was so afraid I'd lost you." He pulled her into his embrace, almost like he was trying to hide her in his chest.

Deep went numb momentarily by his sudden action but softened in his embrace slowly.

"It's awkward. I have never been so close to anyone, but honestly, it's not uncomfortable. Rather, it feels like never-ending solace. His warmth, his embrace, which I'm feeling right now, is soothing. It's easing my pain. It's making me want to forget everything and just melt in his arms. Actually, it's new to me, this feeling of someone being so scared to lose me. I never felt such desperation for my well-being in someone's eyes. Meanwhile, his eyes felt like he would tear the world apart for me. But on the other hand, it's scaring me. What if I leave another soul remorsing my demise? Earlier, it was only Anjali. Although if she wouldn't have been there, I would have left the world long ago. Even now, the way she left the room, I know she remembered those days. I can understand her numbness. It's hard for her to see me like this. And I know it would be tough for her...I have never been scared of my own death, but Anjali, and now Maan, seeing them, it makes me want to live-not for me but for them. You know I have always felt that the one who leaves is freed from the pain, the one's who are left behind are in real pain," she spoke to her inner turmoil.

The Next Morning

Sunlight flashed on her face. She moved a little in her sleep but wasn't able to. As she opened her eyes, she could feel a warm breath on her head and two hands holding her in his embrace. She moved her head a little to look at the face. It was Maan, sleeping peacefully while gently holding her to his chest.

"His warmth and smell are really mesmerizing...Ahh, and his physique. It feels nice like this in his hold. It gives me a sense of protection I never had. It feels like an unspoken promise he is fulfilling." She moved her hand to remove one hair strand falling on his forehead, only for him to open his eyes and look directly into hers.

Hello my cherries 🍒, Hope you are doing good . This chapter has a lot of emotions and fears unfolding hope you like it was a heart wrenching chapter to write. I myself ended up crying by Maan's confession to unconscious Deep. Please tell me your views about what you feel about it.

The OST suits best for Maan & Deep.

The next chapter will show Agastya & Anjali side of story as they also need their personal screen time it was supposed to be in it only but I thought to give two different updates for one being Deep & Maan and another one becoming Anjali & Agastya.

What do you think of Maan?

What did Deep mean by saying Anjali remembered those time?

Why was Anjali so numb?
